Nothing like a last minute post

Holy cow when I mention time flies by.... I am not kidding! Here are a few updates from the past month as tomorrow I am 39 weeks and DELIVERING THIS BABY GIRL!!!

At 35 weeks Corey took me to Snowbird for the weekend and it was lovely! We were celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary a little earlier and taking a staycation. Jensen stayed with in-laws and my mom for the weekend and  Corey and I took time to relax, swim, eat good food, and do a lot of walking. It was so much fun it put me into early labor! I ended up waking up that Sunday with some crazy contractions that we came home earlier than we planned and I ended up in the hospital that day for a few hours. I ended up home on temporary bed rest for that entire following week, but by the following week my contractions slowed down/stopped and I was able to return to work.

Week 36 was obviously boring as I stayed home in bed all week. It was tough depending so much on Corey and our families that week to get things done - even just giving Jensen a bath I couldn't handle. Since I was in the last month of pregnancy I started going to the doctor weekly at this point. These appointments got really short - less than 10 minutes - as I didn't need to have my cervix checked and he just did the basic measurements, questions, etc.
The weekend of week 36 (right after being down all week) we had a family maternity session done with FotoFly Away at Thanksgiving Point. I still didn't feel well and it was tough to get through the session, but I absolutely LOVE the way the pictures turned out.

Week 37 brought on a sinus infection and ear infection for me. At least I was able to work the entire week and I started feeling much better after I finally went to the clinic at work and got on some antibiotics. I went to the doc again, but Dr B was in surgery so his MA, Deb, did my quick appointment. Again, nothing special and no weight gain. I realized at this appointment that I hadn't gained more than 2 pounds since my June 3rd appointment! I guess since I already gained 30 pounds it was just fine, but crazy to continuously see the same number pop up on the scale.

Week 38 is when I started getting insanely uncomfortable. Baby girl has dropped and she is sitting so low that I got the crazy pelvic pain again. Nothing new though - just trying to get stuff done. My mom came over and helped me put finishing touches on the "nursery" (she is in our room), did her laundry, etc. Needless to say I haven't really nested the way I did with Jensen. I feel like I forcing myself to get stuff done this time and just trying to get all the basics taken care of.

Today, August 12th is one day prior to week 39 which also means tomorrow Hayden will be here! Today I had my last prenatal appointment with Dr Brown and everything was perfect. I finally had him check my cervix since everyone keeps asking. I am only at 1 and about 60% (where I was with Jensen until I was in active labor). I had to go to St. Mark's after and get blood work done and finish pre-registration stuff for tomorrow. I took yesterday and today off work which I am so thankful I did. Yesterday I kept Jensen home with me and I took him to Target to pick out new pjs (boring, but he grew out of his), Jungle Jim's Playland, and Olive Garden for lunch. He woke up so early yesterday and we had so much fun that he came home and slept for 2.5 hours! He didn't wake up until 4:30 so we had dinner and got frozen yogurt and the day was already over! Today I took it off for doctor's appointments, lab work, to relax and get things done, and to get a pedicure at my favorite spa.

Tomorrow will be here before I know it and I am starting to get anxious, excited, nervous, and just about any other feeling a mom gets before having a baby. I feel surprisingly calm still, but I know I will feel much different tomorrow. I am starting to feel sad knowing that in exactly 24 hours from right now I will no longer be pregnant. I have not had the easiest pregnancy this go-around, but I still wouldn't trade it for anything. The kicks are amazing and I know I will be sad that we are done having babies after this. I am also so excited that I will soon be holding my baby girls in my arms and forming a bond that I have been dreaming about for the last 9 months.

The plan for tomorrow: Eileen is coming over to watch Jensen as usual (for Wednesday's) around 9:30 and Corey and I have to head to hospital around 10. We have to be there at 10:30 to check in, get hooked up to IVs, etc. My surgery is scheduled for noon. Corey's parents plan to pick up Jensen at our house in the afternoon and bring him up to see his mama and new baby sister. I picked up a new Disney Infinity game to give him from his sister. Tomorrow night he will be staying with my in-laws and on Thursday Corey plans to pick him up in the afternoon, spend the day with him, come visit me, and keep Jensen home for the night. I am sure I will be just fine at the hospital by myself and I know I will love the one-on-one time with Hayden.

Okay, I better go. I somehow ended up my chart paperwork and I need to take it back. It is for my surgery tomorrow and I can't have it without them having these forms! Eek!
