Week 21

How far along? 21 weeks as of yesterday (April 9th)

Total weight gain? It has fluctuated a bit in the last 2-3 days. I weighed in yesterday at 171. That is 20 lbs gained already!

Maternity clothes? Of course

Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep? Some nights better than others. I passed out last night I was so tired!

Movement? Not feeling a lot today, but she is pretty calm during the day.

Labor signs? Nope. Lots of cramping this past week, probably from ligaments streching

Best moment this week? It has nothing to do with the baby. Things are going great with work and I am up for a promotion and hopefully soon. Also, the weather has gotten really nice this week and we are spending more time outside as a family. I love it!

Food cravings? I love Oreos right now. I crave them at night with milk.

Anything making you queasy? The usual - I am still having to take Diclegis. Still sick most of the day

Gender? GIRL

Wedding ring on or off?  On

Miss anything? No. Nothing in particular or at least right now.

General mood? Pretty happy and then grumpy when I am super tired or get these bad cramp feelings

Symptoms? Just the cramping.

Belly button in or out? Half in and half out still

Looking forward to… My doctor's appointment next week. Next check is on Tuesday.

Week 20

How far along? 20 Weeks

Total weight gain? A lot! I am at 170 lbs which means I have gained 19 so far

Maternity clothes? A must. I need to go buy more t-shirts I think. Ready to wear all the summer ones I bought for Puerto Rico but it is still too cold here

Stretch marks? No new ones

Sleep? Only with my huge pillow

Movement? Yes - finally feeling her move on the outside, but not a lot. She is much calmer than Jensen was at this stage.

Labor signs? None - thank goodness

Best moment this week? Feeling Hayden kick on the outside. I tried to grab Corey's hand, but she stopped moving. Also, Whitney (my leader) brought me nearly $300 worth of baby formula for free! I never used this brand, but I read that it is good. I will feel less stressed with nursing knowing that if I can't keep up when I come back to work that I am already set with formula for a few months

Food cravings? I stopped craving certain types of food this past week or so. I am just always hungry

Anything making you queasy? Just about everything. I really hate brushing my teeth. I am still pretty nauseated all the time and still taking Diclegis at least 2x a day

Gender? GIRL! Hayden Brooke

Wedding ring on or off? On

Miss anything? Having energy. I was hoping to feel better and have more energy by now.

General mood? Pretty happy. I love knowing we are having a girl!

Symptoms? Cramping. I remember this with Jensen and that it happens with growth spurts of baby and my belly.

Belly button in or out? In between

Looking forward to… shopping! My mom bought a few things for Hayden over the weekend including a really cute grey chevron crib bumper. I am anxious to create a very cute nursery on the other half of my bedroom.

Potty Training Jensen

I decided it was finally time to potty train my cute little Ninja Turtle so I went to Jackie for advice. She had just trained Glavin and he was doing so well. She emailed me the book she used - 3 Day Potty Training. I read through it, made Jensen a potty chart on a poster board, washed all of his character underwear, and bought him a big book of Ninja Turtle stickers. We were set!
The Saturday following my ultrasound (29th) was the first day of potty training. Needless to say there were a few tears on Jensen's end because he just wasn't having it. He only had 4 accidents that day, but wet that night and during nap. Sunday he had 2 accidents, dry at nap, and wet again that night. Monday I was on my own with him (Corey had to go to work) but we were down to 1 accident and dry during nap! It took a few more days until he stayed dry all night, but we are doing much better! He is so cute too - he doesn't tell you has to go "pee or potty" but he says "uh oh" and runs to the bathroom. When I am home with him we have yet to have an accident. I took him to get his pictures done on Saturday at Camera Shy with my mom and I took his potty seat with us. He managed to go potty there twice! We went running around all morning and he didn't have an accident! After about 5 days he was staying dry during the day and night. Corey says that he has a few accidents at his parents house, but I am not sure why. We will get there though. Now we need to get him to go poop on the potty. He tell us "poop" so we run to the bathroom, he sits there, cries, and then wants to get done. He has had a few poop accidents in his underwear, but we will get there. I am hoping sooner rather than later. At least we are out of diapers!!!!
A type too - we used Baby Legs (leg warmers). He hates to be naked and have bare legs so I bought a few pair of boy looking Baby Legs. He loved them and it was much easier to get him dressed and undressed while potty training. They say to only keep them in a shirt and underwear, but that wasn't cutting it. He cried he didn't have pants on until I put these on!
Here are a few cute pictures of him going potty and his potty chart. We had 3 full days (cooped up) inside and enjoyed a lot of snuggly time together. I was definitely ready to get back to work on Tuesday that week! Oh and here is a picture of my close-to 20 week belly and my exhausted potty training look.

Week 18 and 19 and a name!

So, I missed week 18, but that is because I had just gotten back from Puerto Rico and to be honest I was a bit behind in the everyday life.... trying to get laundry done, spend time with my family, and of course getting back to work.
Week 18:
Still feeling sick and taking Diclegis
Successfully (haha) gaining a pound a week
I can feel baby kick, but only on the inside
I love burritos (bean and cheese) and french fries. Probably good I try to make dinner every night so I don't give in to my cravings.
I saw Dr. B yesterday for my monthly check-up and everything went perfect. My blood pressure is perfect. These appointments are always really fast. The fun thing about this one is that Jensen went with me. I had taken the day off (day after my trip) to spend with him but we had to be to the doctors by 8:30am. Jensen did so well and just sat in the chair behind me the entire time. He was so calm and patient! I love that little man!
I am already to week 21 tomorrow so I can't remember everything about week 18

Week 19:
Not much new this week. Right on the day of week 19 (Wednesday the 26th) I planned to go to prenatal yoga at Yoga Path in Draper where I use to go, but I ended up so sick. The hard nights of sleeping hit this past week and I was going to bed way too late. I would be fine until early afternoon and then I was ready to crash for the night. I think it finally hit that day! I had to go home, go straight to bed, and not eat dinner, help with Jensen, etc. I was so exhausted I was sick! I felt much better the next day!
On Friday the 28th we had our ultrasound and found out we were expecting a baby girl! Needless to say I was ecstatic - I went to Target on my lunch and found 4 girly onesies for this baby. Corey agreed on my girl name! Please welcome.... Hayden Brooke Paskett!

Ultrasound... and It's a....

GIRL!

That's right! We had our ultrasound on Friday, March 28th and we are having a baby girl. I have had the name Hayden Brooke stuck in my heard for the better part of a decade so we already have her name! I am ready to shop and buy every pink thing imaginable. Here is one of the ultrasound shots - it's a girl!

Puerto Rico

I realized it has been just shy of a month since I have last posted. Time flies faster than I would like it! I realized the last time I posted I was getting ready to leave for Puerto Rico so I figured I should share that first.

My mom celebrated her 20th anniverary with CHG in August of 2013 and as one of the awards she received, she received a trip to President's Club. This year was Puerto Rico and she was gracious enough to take me! The flights were long, exhausting, and the worst part about the trip. Everything else was perfect, beautiful, calm, and serene. I really missed my family, but it so nice to get away for a few days, relax, and focus on my baby.

My mom and I definitely kept busy while we were there, but nothing too crazy. The first day we go there around noon and we had to wait for our room to be ready so we just mingled in the lobby area with other CHG employees. Our room was ready pretty quick so we went up, changed into shorts!, and went out to the pool area to have lunch. We walked around the grounds a little, but we were so exhausted we went to our room and napped. We woke up in time to have dinner, so we ordered room service (pizza and a salad to share) and went right back to sleep. We were like zombies that first day from trying to take a red-eye flight and not being able to sleep! We slept well that night and glad we arrived early to sleep so we could be ready for the next day!

Friday morning was so much fun! We put on some summer clothes and joined the CHG clan for an amazing breakfast with some really cool street performers and a guy who was cutting actual coconuts for coconut milk. My mom and I tried it and hated it, but it was cute to hold! We then ventured off for the remainder of the day in Old San Juan forts, etc. We took the city bus downtown and then took a free trolley to the top of Old San Juan and worked our way. The top is a lot of old forts and when you get to the bottom there are ton of shops and restaurants and tourist stores to check out. We spent most of the day just walking down so we grabbed some food, headed back for dinner, and we ended up back down there on our last day.

Saturday we hung out at the private beach in these awesome chairs with an umbrella that the pool staff set up for you! We ordered lunch at the beach and just took it easy. That night was the Awards Gala so we wanted to stick close and make sure we had enough time for the both of us to shower and get ready (we only washed our hair that one day!). The awards were really nice and my mom got an awesome glass award.

Sunday we went to the rainforest with Susie and her husband Glen. It was gorgeous to hike next to such beautiful flowers and trees that were growing bananas! I have never seen anything like it. We were gone for about a half day and Glen was nice enough to rent a car and drive us there. Once we took the car back we took a few minute break at the hotel and then we went back to Old San Juan to shop and eat dinner with Susie and Glen via the city bus. It was so cheap to take the bus vs a cab and it was pretty easy to figure out the system there. I was craving a burrito the ENTIRE time we were there so I finally got a burrito for dinner! We got back at a decent time and decided it was best to start packing. The trip went too fast!

Monday was a travel day and we had to be in the lobby around 10 or 11 (can't remember now) so we woke up, ate breakfast, and finished packing. Then we headed out to sit at the pool, take a few more pictures, and leave. The trip went so fast, but it was so amazing. We were always eating such great food - from Starbucks in the morning with the breakfast CHG provided, to great lunches in San Juan to dinners at the resort we were staying at. The steakhouse was one of my favorite dinners, but never would I be able to afford that again. My mom paid for everything so I tried to pick up coffee here and there haha! I owe her a VERY good Mother's Day gift.

Since this post is getting way too long here are some pictures I took on my phone. Glen and Susie had their camera and took HUNDREDS of pictures and shared them with us. My mom has the USB drive so I need to borrow it and load the pictures to my computer.

HI-YA!

I just posted two days ago that I can feel little "flutters" but nothing crazy. Well, go figure that afternoon (right around lunch time) baby started kicking like a ninja! I think I have another very active baby on my hands - just like Jensen. Maybe planning a c-section is for the best. Knowing that Jensen was as ninja baby and got wrapped in his umbilical cord mutliple times- the same thing is probably happening to this little one!

I love these movements and sometimes it really catches me off guard. I can't help but put a little a face and keep moving on with my day
